A couple of days ago I posted a picture of Nicky in her PPE outside one of the ICUs. When I was looking at the picture yesterday I noticed that the protective screen behind her had been decorated with messages from the nursing staff.
Nicky took some photos of the screen panels yesterday and I thought I would share them with you. The last month has been tough on everyone but it is the nurses who have suffered the most. They are working long shifts in PPE, looking after some of the sickest patients they have ever seen and for every ventilated patient that survives to leave ICU, another two die. They are the only company the patient has and when the patients die they are the only ones who are with them at the end.
The graffiti speaks volumes.
Thank you so much for your blog, I prefer to read what's happening in our area rather than the national news, which leaves me rather anxious and angry. I would be interested to know what your thoughts are of mainstream media reporting on the virus? Keep blogging 👍
As brave as (if not braver than) any soldier who ever walked onto a battlefield. Each and every one of you.
